Skin color doesn't matter.

I heard this on the Michael Medved show and think that it's so important that it needs to be repeated.

You have less than a 1% chance of living in poverty if you do the following four things according to a recent study:
1. Graduate highschool.
2. Avoid having a child out of wedlock.
3. Avoid illegal drugs.
4. Never remain unemployed for six months or longer.

I've also heard studies report that there are four keys of success for my generation:
1. Say 'please' and 'thank you.'
2. Be on time.
3. Finish what you start.
4. Do what you say you will do.

None of these has anything to do with race. It is one human race, after all.

I also wanted to link this editorial from the Pueblo Cheiftain.

He shares Mona Charon's view, "This may not be popular opinion among certain cultural or religious viewpoints, but the truth about poverty reduction is there for anyone willing to work diligently to better an individual’s and/or family’s situation. Best of all it is based upon personal responsibility and smart choices."

This is the message we need to send in order to build a strong America. Thank you for reading.
