Rules of Engagement Part 1

Rules of Engagement
  1. Talk about the issues that have substance. Don’t make fallacious arguments ad hominem. For example, address the issue of government response to global warming and not the hypocrisy of Al Gore. It doesn’t matter if Al Gore is a hypocrite. What matters is if what he says is true. It doesn't matter if Barack Obama's middle name is Hussain. What matters is whether or not what he says and believes is true. Conservatives are right on the issues. Don’t let others frame the debate about anything else.
  2. Tell the truth. Treat Americans like the smart people that we are. Don’t expect to get away with lies. Although a lie may help you politically in the short term, i.e. “Human need, not Corporate Greed.” No one really favors corporate greed. This only confuses the issues and is in fact deceitful. Ed Shultz uses a good line on his liberal talk radio show. “Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, just not their own facts.” Here, here Ed!! I love it.
  3. Don’t attack the fringe and expect the mainstream to respond. Both sides of the political spectrum has fringe. If someone says to you that they are not conservative because they don’t favor nuking Mecca and Medina, you won’t be swayed to the left because of it. That’s because nuking those cities is an idea that only exists in the irresponsible fringe for the political spectrum. Likewise, many liberals don’t see it as consequential that an Australian fellow favors legalizing infanticide up too 28 days after birth. He’s on the fringe. Democrats make it easy for us however. Many of them hold radical views and have to hide them from the public. For example, Bill Clinton opposed a ban on partial birth abortion (you know when the mother is giving birth to a baby a full term and he/she sticks a pair of scissors up through the mandible into the brains). The liberal major of Washington D.C. apparently favors a complete ban on gun licenses. Hillary Clinton won’t renounce the Moveon.com ad referring to General Petraus as “General Betray us.” These are mainstream examples. They should be good for convincing your Democrat co-worker or your neighbor that their party has departed from the liberal ideals of freedom and democracy in exchange for Marxist ideals of utopian equality.
