Nearly 1 in 5 troops has mental problems after war service
By PAULINE JELINEK – 1 hour ago WASHINGTON (AP) — "Roughly one in every five U.S. troops who have survived the bombs and other dangers of Iraq and Afghanistan now suffers from major depression or post-traumatic stress, an independent study said Thursday. It estimated the toll at 300,000 or more."
Our troops have exemplified Christ-like sacrifice in this war. They give so much in order to protect America and the world and they fight for the freedom of Iraqi and Afghani people. We have work ahead of us as a nation to take care of these daring soldiers as they return from the war abroad. Thankfully, I see our nation ready to receive the troops when they are ready to return.
